Back to the roots... I was eight years old the first time I visited Madeira Island with my grandmother and my aunt. Actually, it was my first vacation elsewhere besides Switzerland and continental Portugal, so I never forgot those first impressions and the experiences. But still, I was too young and didn't really appreciate the amazing nature around me.
I remember meeting many relatives that live there; it was where my maternal grandparents, my mother and her siblings grew up. But after all this time I had the urge to visit Madeira again, to get to see more of the island and spend time with my cousins. I was very excited to be with them again and explore the place my grandparents come from, a part of me is made of their blood, a part of my roots are settled there. Four days were not enough to do everything I had planned, but during those four days (thanks to my cousins) I saw more than expected. However, I want to go back soon and continue discovering. This is a diary of my holidays in Madeira, meant to trigger your interest to visit this fantastic place on earth. ;D And if you have any question, just comment below! Now, what about you? Where are your roots? :) In a while, crocodile! Lili

I'd rather have a passport full of stamps than a house full of stuff. Forever a discoverer
